FRIENSHIP GEOMETRY

(For Lawal Aminat Kenny)
Friendship at times derives its currency
From masking us as parallel lines; hearts
Braid as lamole but bodies build Jericho
Of ego, perpendicular to the earth that camels
The world. Let these words be my songs, my
Lyre and trumpet, an army armed with ammunition
Of unity to make the standing wall of ego worship
Flat, as a straight line; 180 degrees for any angle on it.

Even though we parallel as Heaven and Hell, had
Blake not locked our hands in admiration? Are
Our feelings not angles on the same segment?
Let these words again be my orisons from which
The aroma of love and friendship wisps, inhale them
As oxygen, live by them…I say, live by them…
